“I never lose. Either I win or I learn. ”
This thought charged up our sports lovers for National Sports Day. August 29 is celebrated as National Sports Day in the memory of legendary hockey player Dhyan Chand. Ms.Deepti introduced the day to children in the assembly. The importance of sports and games encompasses the benefit of physical activity and results into good health of our learners. It was a delight to see the excitement with which children challenged themselves to attempt variety of races such as Pick and Drop Race, Get Ready for School Race, Zig- Zag Race, Hurdle Race etc. This was a chance for children who have a passion for outdoor sports and team games to shine. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. Winners from each class got the chance to participate in final race. Our determined and focussed sports enthusiasts showcased their skills effectively. They showed eagerness in giving marvelous performances.
The school was abuzz with joy and cheer all day long and the students thoroughly enjoyed the day. The day not only worked as entertainment for our learners but also helped in spreading awareness about what role sports play in an individual’s life to live a healthy lifestyle. Children also learnt how to cope in a competitive environment as well as learning all about winning and losing.
