Primer II- My Healthy Plate
The kid’s healthy eating plate is a visual guide to help, educate and encourage children to eat well and keep moving. Eating a variety of foods keeps our meals interesting and flavorful. It’s also the key to a healthy and balanced diet because each food has a unique mix of nutrients .kiddos of primer 2 were given two different baskets containing different food items they were asked to make the best eating choices and putting them in their plates . This activity was organised to inspire the selection of healthy meals and snacks and emphasizing on diet quality and avoiding junk food to live.
Class 1 – Learning by Doing-Abacus
Abacus, as we all know is an instrument which helps kids to understand the place value of a number in a better way. The main purpose of the activity was to make children understand by doing it. In this activity, children were given some rings and they had to show the number on abacus given by teacher. As the activity was like a game for the students, they really enjoyed it and were waiting for their chance. Any mistake done by any child was rectified by other children who were watching them. Thus, it strengthened the concept of ones and tens among the students.
Class 2 – Fun Way-Expanded Form
A fun activity through
a game was taken in Class – 2 .A game was given to students to play. The game
had a round board in which expanded form of numbers was written and some clips
were there on which numbers were written. Students had to match the number with
its expanded form. The students were taking interest in playing and they played
nicely. By this activity, the concept of expanded form was more clear to them
in a fun way.
Class 3 – Dramatisation- Seekh
When children do role plays, they naturally become someone or something else. Role play stimulates their imagination and enhances their social development, encourages friendship through cooperation, listening and turn taking. To improve their motor skills a role play of the lesson “Seekh” was organised for the learners of class 3.The kids enacted different characters from the drama and delivered the dialogues with proper expressions. Their mentors also explained them the correct dialogue delivery and expressions.
Class 4 –Craftivity -Types of Houses
Craft activities are all about encouraging, nurturing and showcasing every child’s natural creative flair. Through these, students learn to explore the extent of their imagination and express themselves without any fear. To make the children grasp about types of houses and their features, children made creative craft works using material like cotton, twigs, bamboo sticks, straws etc. The mentor explained them that people around the world have different kinds of houses due to the weather, climate, and living conditions of their environment. They investigated different styles of housing around the world and developed an awareness of environmental, cultural and economic factors that influence the kinds of homes people have.
